Getting fresh tracks (in powder of course) for a whole day is
becoming more and more unusual... Perfect powder is becoming
harder and harder to find and thanks to the significant evolution of
skis during the last 10 years and the progression in ski technique
leading to a higher level of skiing, it is easier and quicker for skiers to
get to untracked snow. With the concept of “powder hunting”, we go
in search of conditions to find the perfect snow that we so often dream
of.
Whilst a meticulous study of the weather forecast to try and predict
depressions is imperative, an in-depth understanding of the local
geography is just as important. An awareness of the extremely
localised climatic conditions of each mountain range helps us to plan
our itinerary. In order to be able to react quickly, in small groups of
three to four people we seize the moment and go off in search of new
territory between the Tarentaise Valley and Mont Blanc, Italy and
Briançon. With “Powder Hunting” we are reaffirming a state of mind
that has driven us for many years now.
