Bordering the famous ‘Annapurna Tour’, the challenging valleys that provide access to this tour have always remained hidden, as much to the Nepalese people as to visitors passing through. However, these valleys have always provided a special passage for processions of yaks travelling from Tibet.
Some of the most beautiful characteristics of the mythical Himalayas can be found here in a region that has remained truly wild: scores of terrace cultivations, emerald torrents, bamboo, pine and rhododendron forests and huge alpine pastures where yaks graze...
In the hills, the Gurungs have built stone and wooden houses to form the beautiful villages of Barpak and Laprak. Higher up, just next to the Tibetan border, the Samapa people of Tibetan origin retain their traditional civilization at the foot of the magnificent summits of Himal Chuli, Kang Guru and Manaslu.
This trek is much less frequented than others and remains wild and far more authentic as we stay away from the crowded lodges. You will experience the Nepal of 20 years ago, before mass tourism arrived!
