Why not attempt the Mont Blanc ascent on skis at the end of the
winter season?
When spring starts to become more apparent in the valleys, the higher
parts of the mountains remain in the grip of winter for a few more
weeks, with a snow level at about 2000m. Each morning you will be
given the chance to explore a new summit or a new descent amongst
the numerous routes that the Vanoise and Beaufort mountain ranges
offer.
As well as the unique sensations experienced when skiing “spring
snow”, we may also be lucky enough to stumble upon a valley shaded
from the sun where we can savour some powder turns which
sometimes happens at this time of the year.
We also take pleasure in a mountain that has become wild again as the
winter crowds have gone.
After a few days of training and preparation, we will finish the week’s
ski touring by attempting to climb Mont Blanc in order to ski back
down to the valley.
