We have high hopes for this new destination. We are always on the lookout for new ski touring destinations in “exotic” areas and after Morocco, Turkey, Norway and Greenland, we were drawn to this region which has real hidden potential. The trigger behind this new project was meeting the Greek guides who skied with us in Val d’Isère last winter and gave us all the information we needed and with whom we will be working during the trip. Greece is known for its historical monuments and islands but not many people are aware that 70% of the country is made up of mountains with impressive snow cover during the winter, especially in the north where this trip will be taking place. There is a “Mediterranean” feel to this area as well as the charm of the little villages that are deserted by tourists during the winter. We will be staying in comfortable gies where the incomparable welcome from the locals will be a big feature of this trip. Moreover, we will be able to enjoy the country’s well-respected gastronomy and wines.
